ZENITH SUNN is ANSON FUNDERBURGH & ERIC LINDELL

With his raspy, soulful voice and instantly memorable original songs, roots-rocking multi-instrumentalist Eric Lindell is a true one-of-a-kind talent. Mixing West Coast rock and swampy New Orleans R&B with honky tonk country and Memphis soul, Lindell creates American roots music that is both surprisingly fresh and sweetly familiar. Since his first self-release over two decades ago, Lindell has earned critical and popular acclaim, first in his dual home bases of New Orleans and Northern California and then across the country. Although influenced by American roots music from blues to country to rock, Lindell's style is all his own. He has performed thousands of gigs in roadhouses, clubs, concert halls and festivals and has appeared on national radio and television. His live shows overflow with happy, dancing people singing the words to every song.

It's hard to put a pinpoint definition on Eric Lindell's music. Although he's been grouped under the broad umbrella of Americana, that's just an easy go-to. True enough, it is American roots music at its finest, but that just scratches the surface of what Lindell brings to the table. For the better part of two decades he's hijacked soul on a cross-country ride that stretches north to the Blues in Chicago, south to the funky vibe of his adopted hometown of New Orleans, east to the R&B of Detroit and west to California for a taste of the Bakersfield sound - and sometimes that's all in one song! He's recorded over a dozen albums since his 1996 debut, including three in the mid-2000s for Alligator Records that rank him among the best selling artists in that storied label's history. His brand new album, The Sun & The Sea, shows why he's come to be regarded as one of the foremost songwriters in American music today and also features the brilliant work of Texas guitar legend Anson Funderburgh. For a select few West Coast shows, Eric will be joined by Anson, adding another dimension to live performances that have become showcase events where you're as likely to witness a ten-minute jam of brilliant-yet-understated guitar histrionics as you are to be pulled in to an intimate acoustic tale of love, loss and redemption.
