The Sweetwater is excited to present a celebration of the 76th birthday of legendary songwriter, Bob Dylan. Shakey Zimmerman returns to the Sweetwater stage nine months after its debut show here last July. Opening the show and joining the band is James Nash.

Shakey Zimmerman brings a fresh, authentic, true to form sound for our theme for the evening, “Long May You Run” The 76th birthday of Bob Dylan.

Last year was quite a year for Bob Dylan. He became the first musician to ever be awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature. His lyrics have long been the voice of a generation, and his catalog of famous songs is epic. Indeed, “The Times They Are-A-Changing.” Bay area favorite, James Nash will open the show, as well as sitting in with the band. A memorable night is in store with the most famous of Dylan’s songs, as well as some deep cuts from his more than 50 years in music. This is a must see show for all fans of Bob Dylan and Neil Young.

Shakey Zimmerman is led by veteran Bay Area musician, Pat Nevins on guitar, vocals, and harmonica. Shakey Zimmerman packs the powerhouse and iconic songs of legendary songwriters Bob Dylan and Neil Young. The songs are carried by Nevins, who has an uncanny ability to channel both Dylan and Young’s trademark voices, while giving them his own stamp. The catalog of songs is deep. Shows are packed with famous songs that come one after another entertaining audiences of all ages. The band can also surprise even the biggest fans with some unexpected deep cuts. Shakey Zimmerman is locked and loaded with a dizzying array of tunes that span the decades, and Nevins embraces both the sensitive side of Dylan and Young, as well as the power-packed electric driven rock and roll side. Tonight the band will lean on the Dylan side of course touching on the Dylan songs that Neil Young himself has covered and more.

Pat Nevins played for six years as a member of Ghosts of Electricity, solidifying his knack for delivering intense Bob Dylan style vocals. He has shared the stage and opened for many famous names, including our own Bob Weir, David Nelson, The Radiators, Commander Cody, Merle Saunders, Koko Taylor, and Lonnie Brooks. Nevins is joined in the band by fingerpicking and fierce attack of guitar slinger, Jody Salino. As a protégé of Jorma Kaukonen, as well as Dave Van Ronk, Stefan Grossman, John Renbourne, and Ian Buchannan, all students of Reverand Gary Davis, Salino developed his guitar prowess as both an acoustic and electric force in his band The Bluescasters. Salino is also a highly skilled recording engineer who has worked his studio magic on many album projects alongside Bill Kirchen, Phil Lesh, Jimmy Herring, Rasheid Ali, Jaco Pastorius, and Earnest “Boom” Carter. Rounding out the band is solid country rock drummer of the Bluescasters and popular Marin county bassist, Jen Rund of Lumination and Tally Up, and on keyboards, from Achilles Wheel and Poor Man’s Whiskey, Ben Jacobs. More special guests to be announced!

Shakey Zimmerman promises Satistaction guaranteed. Every show is a field of dreams.
