Live Dead ‘69
Live Dead ‘69
LIVE DEAD ‘69 perform the classic Live Dead (recorded in 1969) in its entirety for a laudable achievement unto itself. Moreover, they are the only touring entity that applies the Grateful Dead's classic zeitgeist of extemporization and interpretive improvisation beyond an ever expanding repertoire, much of which is created entirely in the moment– without rehearsal or traditional preparation. The players unique history & pedigree offers a familiarity with Grateful Dead's halcyon material, and by their association - implies an improvisational prowess beyond merely playing the songbook or re-creating old Grateful Dead shows. Live Dead 69 is rather sampling philosophy, technique & approach for interpretation ... and they're on to something!

Tom Constanten, original Grateful Dead pianist who played all the keyboards on the Live Dead recording, inducted into The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1995 and was essential to Grateful Dead's first ambitious/ experimental studio recordings Anthem of The Sun and Aoxomoxoa, and tours.

Mark Karan, lead guitarist with Bob Weirs Rat Dog and The Other Ones.

Slick Aguilar who played lead guitar in Jefferson Starship & KBC for 26 years and with David Crosby Band before that.

Robin Sylvester, bassist with Bob Weirs Rat Dog.

Ezra Lipp, drummer with Phil Lesh, Cake, Chris Robinson.
The Airplane Family
The Airplane Family
THE AIRPLANE FAMILY & FRIENDS reunites Jefferson Airplane, Jefferson Starship, and Grateful Dead & family alumni – with other musical luminaries – a veritable “Who’s Who” of ‘The Summer of Love’s’ legendary musicians. Featuring:
Darby Slick, composer of “Somebody To Love,” who launched the career of Grace Slick in his band The Great Society before she joined Jefferson Airplane in 1966. Peter Kaukonen, a founding member of both Hot Tuna & Jefferson Starship, and a member of Jefferson Airplane with his brother Jorma. Prairie Prince, who co-founded The Tubes and tours with Todd Rundgren; and, David Crosby, Kantner/Balin/Casady guitarist Slick Aguilar – both Slick & Prairie performed in Jefferson Starship with Paul Kantner, for more than 20 years, prior to his passing in January.

Acclaimed Canadian Idol winner, actress & star of the acclaimed production “The Wall Theatrical Extravaganza” Eva Avila makes her U.S. debut reprising Grace Slick’s vocal repertoire. Joli Valenti, son of Dino Valenti, sings Marty Balin’s timeless parts & brings selections from Quicksilver Messenger Service who often shared the bill with The Dead & Airplane back in the Fillmore era.

Also appearing is LIVE DEAD 69 comprised of original Grateful Dead pianist Tom Constanten, who played all the keyboards on the original “Live Dead” recording; and, Mark Karan, lead guitarist with Bob Weir’s Rat Dog and The Other Ones which featured every other surviving Grateful Dead member. Live Dead 69 shall perform the classic “Live Dead” (recorded in 1969) in its entirety for the first time anywhere ever.

On select dates, the PIG LIGHT SHOW shall recreate & project the original, magical, swirling images that accompanied so many Fillmore East performances of Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane & others.
