Join the magnificent musical Hellman family for an evening of fine and lively entertainment, featuring a cast of thousands… well … featuring children, grandchildren, siblings, cousins and friends of the late, great Warren Hellman, creator and patron saint of San Francisco's fantastic Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival. Here is the cast (4 great bands, 4 great chords!), along with some special guests and some holiday hijinx thrown in!

The Well Known Strangers
The Well Known Strangers
The Well Known Strangers revel in the Country Rock genre and features Olivia Hellman on vocals, banjos and ukulele; Mick Hellman on drums and hand percussion; Joshua Zucker (The Jones Gang, Rowan Brothers, Poor Man’s Whiskey) on bass; Austin de Lone (Eggs Over Easy, Elvis Costello) on keys; and David Noble (Poor Man's Whiskey) and emerging talent (and multi-time world champion cyclist!) Rob Anderson on guitars.
Lake Charlatans
Lake Charlatans
Lake Charlatans is a rollicking tribute band celebrating the songs of beloved troubadour Lucinda Williams. Named in honor of Williams’ hometown of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Lake Charlatans features Avery Hellman on guitar and vocals; Mick Hellman on drums and vocals; Joshua Zucker (The Jones Gang, Rowan Brothers, Poor Man’s Whiskey) on bass and vocals; Austin de Lone (Eggs Over Easy, Elvis Costello) on keys; Gary Vogenson (New Riders of the Purple Sage, Etta James) on guitar and vocals; and Dave Zirbel (San Geronimo) on pedal steel guitar and vocals.
Marco and the Polos
Marco and the Polos
While growing up, the sibling quartet of Judith (keys, hand percussion), Tricia (guitar, banjo), Frances (vocals) and Mick (Marco) Hellman (drums) played the original call-and-response game after which their band is named. Their music ranges from blues and rock covers to Americana-tinged originals. They are joined by fingerstyle guitarist Stevie Coyle (The Waybacks, Mighty Fine Guitars); Joshua Zucker (The Jones Gang, Rowan Brothers, Poor Man’s Whiskey) on bass; and Austin de Lone (Eggs Over Easy, Elvis Costello) on keys.
Nancy and the Lambchops
Nancy and the Lambchops
Seizing the stage with her own unique flair, Nancy Hellman Bechtle will be accompanied by her swinging, singing nieces Tricia Hellman Gibbs and Judith Hellman as well as her nephew, Mick Hellman on drums and percussion; Joshua Zucker (The Jones Gang, Rowan Brothers, Poor Man’s Whiskey); Stevie Coyle (The Waybacks, The Quitters, Mighty Fine Guitars): and Austin de Lone (Elvis Costello, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Eggs Over Easy). One of the many highlights will be Nancy singing her own composition, “Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff”, written with Steve Earle!
