The Leo Bash
The Leo Bash
Yes it's true!! Amazing lineup of talent coming together for a special night of music! Chris Collins from Super Diamond on guitar; Tony Saunders on Bass, Tony has played with the top names in the biz, including Eric Clapton; long time musical partner CC Dawson on drums and vocals; also on drums- Kennaroo, the non-tour drummer for Train! Special guest appearances from Ben Andrews of The Stone Foxes; Stefanie Keys of Big Brother and the Holding Company; Jimmy Dewalt & Kirby Hammel from The Hallelujahs on keyboards!! OH yeah... and Cole and Mikaële Dawn Tate!! Yee-Ha!!

Before the Sweetwater Music Hall moved to its current location in downtown Mill Valley the venue hosted an annual Leo Bash where many of the areas great musicians shared the stage in an ever-changing tableau dictated by who was in town during the heavy tour and festival summer season the Bay Area’s best artists enjoy.

Sweetwater is resurrecting the tradition on Monday, August 7, with a talented lineup including Stephanie Keys from BIg Brother and the Holding Company, Tony Saunders, voted West Coast Bass Player of the year in 2015. Saunders performed and tracked with Michael Jackson, Eric Clapton, David Crosby and many more. Currently he is working on a Barbra Streisand project.

Cole Tate and Mikaele Tate are fixtures on the Marin scene, playing to loyal fans from Novato to Sausalito. Kirby Hammel, performing on both piano and organ for the Bash is featured in Jambase “Terrapin Station” 40th Anniversary video with Grahame Lesh which was just released to celebrate the anniversary of that milestone Grateful Dead album. With his band, Lee Gallagher and the Hallelujahs, Hammel has previously headlined the Sweetwater.

Vocalist/keyboard/drummer C.C. Dawson, long a high demand session player in the Bay Area, will be hot off appearances with Tate at festivals in Colorado.

Guitarist Chris Collins plays with Shanna Morrison as well as the most popular tribute band of them all, Super Diamond. Kennaro, now non-touring drummer with Train, played with the Starship during the band’s Madison Square Garden and stadium era.
Multi-instrumentalist extraordinaire Ben Andrews of the Stone Foxes and bassist Jimmy DeWalt, also from the Hallelujahs are going to jack up a couple of tunes. Miles Schoen has promised to tear up one tune he played lead guitar on for the Cole Tate Band.
