Sly and Robbie are a prolific Jamaican rhythm section and production duo, associated primarily with the reggae genre. Drummer Sly Dunbar and bassist Robert Shakespeare teamed up in the mid-1970s after establishing themselves separately in Jamaica as professional musicians. Sly and Robbie are estimated to have played on or produced 200,000 recordings, many of them on their own label, Taxi Records.

Sly & Robbie have won several Grammy Awards since 1984, the first year Reggae got its own Grammy category. That year, they won with Black Uhuru. Since then, they have won a Grammy for best reggae album in 1998 with Friends and several others. They have also been nominated with No Doubt, for whom they produced two hit singles in 2001 (Hey Baby and Underneath it all).

Bitty McLean (born 8 August 1972,[1] Birmingham, England) is a British/Jamaican reggae, lovers rock and raggamusician. He is best known for his three UK Top 10 hits in 1993 and 1994, including his debut offering "It Keeps Rainin' (Tears from My Eyes)".

On his upcoming debut self titled album, Sam Ravenna establishes himself as a chef in a soul kitchen. Blending ingredients of electro funk, hip-hop and classic and modern soul, Ravenna pulls together an all star band consisting of players from some of the best touring acts in the country. Members of Turkuaz, Nahko and Medicine for the People, Pretty Lights live band and more lend their hand to Sam Ravenna's songs, complimenting his intricate arrangements and uncompromising electric sound.

The Berklee College of Music graduate has spent the bigger part of the last decade as a side man for many artists including Cas Haley, Tubby love, and Peter Joseph Burtt & The Kingtide. He is a seasoned touring musician, and has produced a handful of records for artist around Lake Tahoe and national touring acts. His own projects, the funk powerhouse "Rapplesauce" and the reggae-dub project "Samily Man" have received critical acclaim. All of these accomplishments culminate in Sam Ravenna's high energy and intimate musical experience he'll be taking on the road this year to support his new record.
